Featured Plants:
Viburnum and Anemone

Lavalette Nursery features two special plants this time -- a beautiful viburnum shrub and a hardy perennial anemone.

The Arrowood viburnum is Chicago Lustre. Its creamy white spring flowers turn into attractive blue-black berries in the fall, when the glossy dark-green foliage turns a stunning yellow gold. The shrub is available in two sizes -- about 3 feet tall and 5 feet tall. It will eventually get to 10 feet tall and wide -- a beautiful specimen plant for a sunny spot in your landscape. It has no serious pest problems and will also do well in light shade.

The white anemone is Honorine Jobert, an heirloom, and the pink is Pamina. Both are eye-catching beauties in the fall with multitudes of delicate large flowers held above lovely foliage. The flowers begin in early September and last until frost. The leaves are attractive from spring through frost. Both get about 3 feet tall and wide and prefer full sun but will take a little light shade.
