Remodeling project FINALLY FINSHED !!

Drivers on 5th Street Hill noted the slow progress of Lavalette Nursery & Garden Center’s remodeling project over the winter and spring. And what a big project it was, and frought with numerous problems and delays.

Part of the main building was demolished and a huge glass greenhouse was constructed in its place. A giant canopy was erected beside the greenhouse to the back of the original building. (Click here for a gallery of pictures during the winter and spring of our demolition!)

And now Mark Springer and his staff are enjoying the new digs. Tri-State customers can shop rain or shine, with the canopy providing protection from the weather.

The new greenhouse is filled with all sorts of garden “accessories” -- everything from fountains and statuary to patio furniture and arbors.

You’ll also find a variety of bird feeders, ceramic and terra cotta containers, a living wreath planter, plant stands, a polished copper birdbath, gazing balls, and so much more.

A new item this year is a large checkerboard, handmade in Huntington of beautiful walnut, oak and poplar wood.

A perfect pastime while you enjoy sitting outside on your deck or patio.

In the fall, Mark will move tropical plants into the greenhouse for overwintering.

Outside under the canopy, you’ll find a colorful assortment of flowering annuals and shrubs, as well as more statuary, birdbaths, containers and outdoor furniture.

There’s also everything you need for a pond or water feature.

While you’re enjoying the new accommodations, don’t forget the goodies awaiting across the parking lot -- hundreds of varieties of perennials for sun and shade, as well as lots of different kinds of shrubs and trees. And there’s a whole greenhouse devoted to beautiful roses.

If you haven’t visited Lavalette Nursery lately, come in and see what’s new.
