Microbe-Lift Tackles Bacteria in Your Pond

Called a "live bacterial digestant," Microbe-Lift is an important product for anyone planning to cultivate a water garden. It is a key to creating a health aquatic environment and to promoting faster fish growth.

The product has been made by Ecological Laboratories of Freeport, N.Y., for the past 25 years and is produced from a formulation of many naturally occurring strains of bacteria that are found on our planet.

It is so widely accepted in the industry, in fact, that the manufacturer has just applied to the E.P.A. for the registration of Microbe-Lift/PL as a naturally occurring bacteria specifically grown for balancing the ecology of ponds.

Microbe-Lift works:

• Aerobically or anaerobically.
• With or without light.
• In an environment of low to high acidity and low to high alkalinity.
  

It has a shelf life of three to five years and can be shipped to all climatic regions, because
if frozen it keeps its integrity after thawing out.

Treating your water garden with Microbe-Lift -- an "eco-system in a bottle" -- is called "bioaugmentation." That simply mean you're innoculating of your pond with a consortium of microorganisms to restore its natural balance and provide a healthier environment for your plants and animal life. Once added to the water, the Microbe-Lift fills the gaps in the pond's current eco-system that may have resulted from environmental stresses. The added bacteria are immediately functional, without having to germinate like spore-based products.
