Lavalette's Staff of Experts
An expert on pond plants and shade gardens, Jared has 10 years of experience in the business, but a lifetime of working with plants. He’s always been interested in everything garden-related and has studied up on perennials, trees and shrubs. In his spare time, he tends his garden at home, which contains 60 to 70 different varieties of hostas.
A veteran of 15 years in the business, Ray’s specialty is lawn care. A former country club groundskeeper, Ray went through the turf grass program at Ohio State University. He had his own landscape and lawn care business before joining Lavalette. At home, his garden features two ponds, vegetables and flowers and a 20-foot banana tree.
Before joining the nursery business, Karen spent years moving from one military base to another with her then-husband, and won the “yard of the year” award at every base. She’s been in the nursery business for 14 years, and is an expert in perennials and flowering trees. As a Master Gardener, she’s knowledgeable about all aspects of gardening. Karen is also an expert bird-watcher and can offer advice on how to attract birds to your landscape. At home, her grass-free yard contains flowering shrubs and perennials.
